Job Description:
Title:President, Wealth & Trust DivisionThe President of the
Wealth and Trust Division will set vision for trust and investment
employees of a $2.4B bank with $1B in assets under management. This
role involves strategic planning, team leadership, client
relationship oversight, and collaboration with other departments to
drive growth and achieve organizational goals. The ideal candidate
will have extensive experience in investment management, trust
services, team building and a deep understanding of the regulatory
environment.Key Responsibilities:Leadership and Management:
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of investment and trust
professionals.
- Set performance objectives and conduct regular performance
evaluations.
- Foster collaboration with other departments, particularly
Private Banking.
- Establish annual budgets, profitability and key performance
indicators.
- Participate in the incentive plans aligned with company
values.
- Recruit new additions to the team.Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement strategic plans to grow the Wealth and
Trust Department.
- Identify new opportunities through enhancements to offerings
and technology.
- Manage strategic third-party partnerships to access specialists
& address unique client needs.
- Integrate Private Banking into Wealth and Trust offering.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and regulatory changes to
ensure the department's offerings remain competitive and
compliant.Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with high-net-worth
clients and centers of influence.
- Serve as a brand ambassador in the community.
- Build a deep understanding of the department's client
composition portfolio.
- Address and resolve client issues promptly and
effectively.Investment Management:
- Oversee the development and implementation of investment
strategies.
- Ensure the effective management of investment portfolios,
focusing on risk management, asset allocation, and performance
monitoring.
- Work directly with the Investment Officer on investment
performance and models.Trust Services:
- Ensure the delivery of comprehensive trust services, including
estate & financial planning, trust administration, and fiduciary
services.
- Collaborate with legal and tax professionals to provide
integrated wealth management solutions.Brokerage Services:
- Serve as liaison between the bank and the bank's broker dealer
partner.
- Support licensed financial advisors.Regulatory Compliance:
- Ensure the department adheres to all regulatory requirements
and internal policies.
- Oversee audits and examinations, addressing any findings and
implementing corrective actions as needed.Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor, MBA, Master's or Bachelor's degree in finance,
Accounting, or a related field; Certified Financial Planner (CFP),
Certified Trust & Financial Advisor (CTFA) or Certified Public
Accountant (CPA); preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in investment management and
trust services, with a minimum of 4 years directly working with
clients.
- In-depth knowledge of investment strategies, portfolio
management, and trust services.
- Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and compliance
in the financial services industry.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and
relationship-building skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing
team.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving
