expertise! Job Summary of the CT Technologist The CT Technologist
is responsible for performing CT exams in accordance with standards
and practice set forth by the American Registry of Radiologic
Technology and Radiology Department policies and procedures. The CT
Tech demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes and
functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic
sciences, radiation protection, quality assurance, specialized
techniques, and adheres to all Corporate Radiation Right policies.
Responsibilities of the CT Technologist
- Perform CT - Computed Tomography Procedures in accordance with
standards and practice set forth by the American Registry for
Radiologic Technology and Radiology Department policies and
procedures.
- Demonstrate knowledge of human anatomy, disease processes and
functions, patient care, positioning, principles of radiographic
sciences, radiation protection and specialized techniques.
- Verify written order matches requisition prior to performing
exam.
- Follow appropriate protocol for the exam ordered.
- Administer contrast material using proper technique.
- Manage patient flow to ensure that exams are prioritized
appropriately and performed efficiently.
- Communicate pertinent information to interpreting radiologist
in a timely manner.
- Maintain a well-cleaned and supplied department at all times.
Qualifications of the CT Technologist EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate Degree
- Graduate from a school of Radiologic Technology approved by the
AMA.
- Preferred: At minimum 1 year experience as a Radiologic
Technologist LICENSES AND CERTIFICATES:
- Texas Department of State Health Services - Certified Medical
Radiologic Technologist (CMRT)
- Certified in Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic
Technologists American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT,
RTR)
- American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification in
Computed Tomography (ARRT (CT must be obtained within 6 months
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of
